Legal & General Home Insurance

Legal & General home insurance offers a competitive policy that includes high levels of cover for both contents and buildings insurance, as well as some great extras as standard.

Home insurance from Legal & General and offers accidental damage cover as an optional extra but legal cover, payment protection and Legal & General Extra (a discount service for policyholders) are all included as standard.

The option of insuring both contents and buildings insurance in the same policy is available, along with a selection of additional cover options, which include holiday and travel cover and personal possessions protection – available for an extra premium.

Legal & General home insurance includes:

Buildings Insurance

• Automatic cover of up to £500,000 for homes containing 5 bedrooms or less.
• Cover in the event of fire, storm, flood and subsidence, as well as damage caused by theft, vandalism or vehicle damage.
• 24-hr emergency and legal helpline.
• 24-hr Home Emergency Cover. For example, cover will be provided for costs incurred as a result of a burst pipe, along with the cost of labour and parts (up to £150).
• Trace and Access cover - covers the location and repair costs of leaking pipes (up to £5,000).
• Payment Protection - covers your monthly premium for up to one year in case you are unable to work for 30 days or more.
• Special benefits, including discounts on holidays and household appliances.

Contents Insurance

• Cover in the event of fire, theft, storm or flood.
• Lock replacement cover (up to £500)
• Business Equipment cover - covering office equipment and furniture, etc.
• 24-hr Legal and domestic emergency helpline.
• Special Events cover - offers a temporary increase of 10 per cent to your contents sum insured in the both the month before and after a special event such as Christmas.
• Payment protection.
• Automatic cover if contents are removed temporarily, e.g. for students.
